About

Kemal Tizgöl born in Balıkesir 1973, artist and academic, lives and works in Antalya. He participated in several symposiums, biennials, workshops and group exhibitions mostly in Europe, US and Far East.

Currently his works are in many private and institutional art collections in Turkey and abroad. His works took part in some books such as “500 Ceramic Sculpture” published by Lark Book in U.S. He has already 4 solo shows and 3 awards.

Kemal Tizgöl developed a formal and reductivist manner in his early works; later focused on real-copy, transformation of material, reproduction and the transition of meaning issues through combining clay and other materials in his artworks. His latest works searches and deals the inner situation and personal history of the artist own.

Kemal Tizgöl is currently working for as an Associate Professor at Akdeniz University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics.
